GIS Day 2008 Flyer

GIS Day is a global event for users of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to educate children and adults about how geography makes a difference in our lives and to demonstrate GIS technology. GIS Day events take place at schools and organizations in more than 80 countries around the world.

This year, Alaska Arc User Group (AAUG) and National Park Service are presenting Alaska GIS Day at Anchorage Alaska Public Lands Information Center (AAPLIC) in downtown Anchorage. Scheduled GIS activities are being organized for an audience of elementary age students. Teachers, please plan on bringing your 2nd through 6th graders for a two-hour interactive program. Come early or stay after your scheduled time slot to explore the educational exhibits on display at AAPLIC. You will receive a free gift and software to take back to your school to help you continue your exploration of geography and GIS. More information...
